once per calendar year, for dog related educational events which would
benefit the club.
THIS MOTION WILL BE VOTED ON AT THE NEXT MEETING. So if you have input or
wish to express your opinion on it, please do so.

AGILITY DIR. REPORT:
Chelsea was not at the meeting so no report at this time.
Jane mentioned that her place is still a possible site but that
those participating would need to be aware that the agility field is not
that she lives on a farm. Participants will be required to sign special
dogs leashed until it is their turn, and have a fairly reliable recall given
OBEDIENCE DIR. REPORT:
Last month we discussed running another class in March/April. We
decided not to go ahead with it. Next year we will take a look at possibly
running more classes. Jill noted that we do have enough NEED/INTEREST
in the community. We will have to take a look at timelines before the fall
to make sure that we have enough trained instructors and volunteers to
the number of classes.
Jill handed out some pamphlets for the upcoming CAPPDT (Canadian
Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers) conference scheduled
for Apr. 18,19 & 20th in Ottawa. Anyone interested in attending should
check out their website or contact Jill for information.
Balance of $7100 before the entries closed for this year's show.
CONFORMATION DIR. REPORT:
As of March 19th, Connie had some concern about numbers of entries coming
in for this year's show. At the meeting, it was decided to go ahead with
SHOW anyway. ( As of the closing date, the number of entries went
up considerably and we are good to go!) SO IF YOU HAVE NOT PUT YOUR
NAME IN FOR VOLUNTEERING YET, PLEASE DO SO! IT LIGHTENS
THE LOAD FOR ALL CONCERNED IF EVERYONE DOES THEIR BIT.
(1) Set-up on Thursday, April 10 and take down on Sunday
April 13th for both Conformation and Obedience.
(2) Catering - Sandy will tell you what you can help with.
(3) DOOR - We always need spares in case of illness, etc.
(4) OBEDIENCE - Mike has contacted members and has set up
the times when he would like you to help.
We don't need the wickets or ramps for the show.
Jane mentioned some equipment that we are going to need to go ahead with
with an instructor. We would need weave poles, a table and possibly a
if we were going to include puppies. We would just need to purchase
as her son can make what we need. Anyone interested should definitely be at
BREEDING BETTER DOGS:
Reminder to club members to get your names in to Connie if you are
in the seminar.
This is a repeat from last month:
CHAMPLAIN DOG CLUB CLOTHING:
We are looking into possibly ordering some clothing with our club LOGO
on it. The LOGO would be similar to the one of the new membership
booklets. We are looking at RED shirts, etc. as that is our club colour.
1. Embroidered sweats, $30.00 - $40.00.
2. Embroidered polo's, cheaper version $25.00 - $30.00, more expensive
white trim would run almost $50.00.
3. Jackets, $100-$110.
4. T's (silkscreen rather than embroidered), $12.00 - $15.00
Be sure to let Connie know, if you might be interested in something like
Bob Robothom (former professional HANDLER) will come and do a full day for

So, please get back to her ASAP with this info.
The training hall at the Petawawa Civic Centre is still available on Monday
from 6:00 - 10:00 pm for members to use until after the show. At that
we will have to take a look at whether or not there is enough interest to
renting the hall.
Linda Cooney will run a pet grooming workshop(s) for members.
Bronwyn mentioned that is something she would be interested
in and has agreed to help Linda. Please get in touch with Linda at
firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to BRUSH UP ON YOUR
This part of the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 and awards were given out to
Linda and Vito and a special presentation was made to Jane and Oakley for
their HIGH IN TRIAL at our show last year.
And then it was on to a very informative presentation on Canine First Aid,
by our very own Linda Cooney and Vito! You were a patient PATIENT, Vito!
Thanks Linda for taking the time to share your knowledge. Connie is making
up some handouts on a few key things from the presentation, including what
need to put in your first aid kit.
