MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT approx. 7:05
MINUTES FROM LAST MONTH'S MTG. APPROVED BY Linda G.
SANTA CLAUS PARADE:
-thanks go out to Linda (&Kevin) for organizing the float
-thanks also to Jane (straw), Kevin (for the gas & for driving) and
Brigitte (lights) and to those who participated in preparation & during the
-it was a real team effort and the crowd seemed to really enjoy
the dogs (three Goldens & Vito)
-expenses (biggest amount was for candy canes - $28.00 and Linda
felt we could have had more) - Total Expenses - $69.01 - Sandy gave
Linda a cheque for that amount.
-next's years theme is the NATIVITY and everyone seemed keen...
-insurance & CKC renewal for club have been paid
-VISA work in progress, as are the books
-none at this time
CONFORMATION DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
HANDLING SEMINAR - March 14th, 9:00 - 5:00 at Rankin Community Centre
-members $50.00 due to Connie now - contact email@example.com if you
have not confirmed with her
-is now open to the public for $75.00
APRIL 2009 SHOW - One judge has backed out & Connie is working on the
-change will be posted on website and on entry line
-show committee members will meet last week in Jan.
AGILITY DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
-Jane will look into getting someone to do an agility clinic once a month IF
IS ENOUGH INTEREST: Contact Jane - firstname.lastname@example.org if you would
like to participate and let her know your skill level.
OBEDIENCE DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
-Jan.Feb. Session for the Family Pet Class is full
-first class scheduled for Jan. 19 will now start on Jan. 26 due
to overbooking on the part of the PCC
-we will get a free night at the training hall due to the their error
-looks like classes will now end on Mon. March 2
-March 30 is cancelled due to another Blood Clinic
OBEDIENCE CLINIC DATES WITH KIM COOPER:
-Feb. 14 at Kelly's and March 21 at Rankin to finish this year's sessions
-newspaper article came out in the Pembroke Observer on Nov. 22, 2008
-copy at the meeting for anyone who was interested
-they are not interested in a regular column at this time but Jen
can see if we can run something just before the show
FROM CKC: Banned Aid Request for Funds to continue the legal battle
-see CKC or CAPPDT WEBSITES for details
-MOTION by Brigitte to send $250.00 from our club/seconded by Jill
-Connie to send by PayPal so that they will get it by end of January
-Connie handed out some flyers that Jordan has done up to be put up
at local vet offices, etc.
FEBRUARY AWARDS: Submit to Colleen by end of January,
clearly written out and specify new plaque or pre-existing one
CLUB LIBRARY: Sandy suggested it be updated
-Jill will provide some titles but members may put in requests/INTERESTS as
-suggestions: AGILITY WITH ONE JUMP
-if anyone would like to recommend a video for watching in Feb. let us know
TOY WARNING: Please check your toys for PIMPLE BALLS which contain
only one hole in them for dispensing treats to pets that are playing with
Dogs tongues can become stuck, as the toy creates a vacuum. The
consequences can be
very serious. If you care to read more visit this website but a warning

CARP TRAINING HALL: Bronwyn & Pi went on Jan. 16th to the SHOWNGO, and they
did very well.
Reminder that the next one is Jan. 30 for those interested.
