President welcomed quests and new members and made membership forms
available for them to fill in, as well as for previous members who have not
yet completed the updated form.
Approval of Minutes/Newsletter from Dec. - Colleen
Jill initiated a discussion of whether we should approve the expenditure of
($500.00) based on executive approval only. Motion was tabled and will be
at a later date.
As to the 50% to OSPCA & 50% to Junior Handling rather than 100% to OSPCA,
this was carried.
As to what constitutes an "active" member. Following a brief discussion,
was also tabled and will be re-visited at the next meeting.
It was pointed out that changes to By-Laws, etc. should be made at the
Annual Meeting (Nancy) and that motions should come from the floor
(Brigitte) if we are to going to follow Robert's Rules. Connie indicated
that we are not doing that at the present time.
OBEDIENCE CLINIC with Kim Cooper on Jan 26th:
Jane indicated that the clinic is now closed due to an excellent response.
We have 17 members & their dogs signed up. Make sure Jane has your
$20.00. The clinic will begin at 9:30 and go until 4:30 at the Lion's
Hall in Petawawa. Jane will keep us posted with updates on the
groups/times, etc. Contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org to make
arrangements to get your money in.
These will be ready for the February Mtg for new members and those who have
paid their dues
for 2008. Connie had samples of the PETS INSIDE signs and the circular

window stickers that will be in the booklets. You will be getting a
membership list with contacts,
interests, etc. as well as an events calendar and the Bylaws.
Insurance has been paid.
2005 audit has been completed.
2006 is almost ready to go.
OBEDIENCE DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
We have one class full without doing any advertising. We will limit it to
one class so that the hall at the Petawawa Civic Centre can still be
MEMBERS to use from approx. 8:00 until 10:00 every Monday night.

REGISTRATION: Monday, January 14th, at 7:00.
Classes will run from 7:00 - 8:00 from Jan. 21 to Feb. 25.
Volunteers will need to arrive prior to 7:00 to help with set-up.
CONFORMATION DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
Since Graham was unavailable, Connie has contacted Colin Brownlee and we
should have a date within the next month or so. Premium lists are out and
include reference to CGN testing and to our seminar BREEDING BETTER DOGS

SHOW COMMITTEE MEETING: Wed. Jan. 23 at 7:30 at the Big Stop
PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTORS' REPORT:
None at this time, but Connie had the flyers for our April Show
available and several members took copies to post in in their areas.
Connie discussed switching to the website that was designed for us by Evan
Brown. Don't forget to get back to her on what you think of the new

We will need to put aside a budget of $5.00 per month to block the pop-ups
if it is approved.
